Bernadette is the co-creator of the 360 ILC and co-founder of Chalk & Cheese Consulting.

Prior to this work, Bernadette worked at Deloitte for almost 15 years where she was a director in the Human Capital consulting practice, specializing in diversity, inclusion and culture more broadly. She has lived and worked in both Australia and London, UK.

Bernadette’s work on diversity and inclusion, and inclusive leadership more specifically, has been recognized globally. She co-created Deloitte’s Six Signature Traits of Inclusive Leadership framework and 360 assessment tool and co-authored a number of publications during her time including:

  • The diversity and inclusion revolution: eight powerful truths (2018)

  • The Six Signature Traits of an Inclusive Leader (2016)

  • Waiter, is that inclusion in my Soup? A new recipe to improve business performance (2012) (Providing one of the first validated measurement constructs of “Inclusion”).

Bernadette’s work on Inclusive Leadership has been recognized by the Australian Psychological Society (Winner, Workplace Excellence Award) and The Apollo Project in partnership with the UK Financial Times (Winner, Architects of Meritocracy award in the Organization category) and has been featured in the Harvard Business Review and the Wall Street Journal among others.

Her motivation stems from an unwavering belief that diversity and inclusion drives business value and the possibility that she can help make the world a better place.


Together with Bernadette, Sandy co-created the 360 ILC and co-founded Chalk & Cheese Consulting.

Sandy is a recognized expert in Diversity and Inclusion and sought-after public speaker on the topic. For close to fifteen years, she has worked with global organizations to uncover and address key obstacles to progressing their diversity and inclusion objectives. Her particular expertise lies in assisting organizations to identify and manage bias in decision-making, as well as coaching leaders and teams to build inclusive cultures.

Sandy served as special advisor to BHP Group Limited prior to the announcement of its gender balance aspirations. She was also a founding leader in Deloitte Australia’s Diversity and Inclusion consulting practice, and a member of the original working group for the Melbourne Business School’s Gender Equity Project. Upon leaving Deloitte's D&I practice, she was engaged by the firm to build inclusive leadership capability across the Australian partnership.

Sandy has provided strategic advice, training and other D&I related consulting services to global market leaders across a variety of industries, including the AFL, Amazon, Allianz, CBA, Clayton Utz, KPMG, MYOB, NAB and Rio Tinto. She has served as an executive coach to senior leaders both here and abroad, assisting them to develop their ability to lead inclusively and drive cultural change in their organisations.

Sandy has a background as a commercial lawyer, and has practised as a commercial mediator, management consultant and executive coach for over 25 years.
